No Contract Plans
If you're not sure how you'll use your cellular phone, or if you anticipate changes-like moving overseas in six months-and don't want to commit to a one- or two-year service contract, a no contract plan might be for you. Also called month-to-month plans, no contract plans are available from several Cellular Phone Companies, so there's probably one or more in your area. You'll get the same features and services without being locked into a long-term contract. You might also want to look into getting a pre paid plan, which lets you pay for your service up front and also doesn't require the commitment of a contract.
No contract plans are great for people who want maximum flexibility. You can usually change the terms of your plan from one month to the next, if you decide you want more minutes or new service option like free long distance. Some no contract plans will let you carry over unused minutes from one month to the next. The only real drawback of no contract plans is that you miss out on the incentives Cellular Phone Companies offer for signing long-term contracts. But great new offers come along all the time, and with a no contract plan, you're always free to change.
